Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure straight entry to the knockout stages, especially after a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match offered a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season proved no match against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Midfielder Adam Wharton came close soon after, fizzing a powerful effort over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after bursting into the box, but the official waved away the protests.
Ex-Arsenal striker didn't need to wait long to find his goal, prodding home from close range after Uche's shot had struck the post.
The home side were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
